When in my mental health journey, I have two different kinds of resources. I guess first is called lifestyle and second is more information based.
Lifestyle changes
started running more/ with yoga/ not lifting weights as much
-For Yoga I usually do Yoga with Adrienne or Boho Beautiful's videos!
-I also do foam roller exercises
Not binge eating/ having a balance/ eating foods that make me feel good
Spending more time with friends (I cut everyone out when I was depressed)
Getting out of my room more/ studying at other places
Maintaining an organized space (I used to have SUCH a messy room)
Cutting out toxic friendships/ letting go of the past and accepting it
ACKNOWLEDGING my imperfections/ flaws/ negative traits but also positive
- I did shadow work and it helped TREMENDOUSLY! Here is a video I used
7.Having a set morning/night routine!
8.Deactivating instagram/ not using social media (obviously I do to communicate, but I don't use it to scroll, because scrolling just makes me feel worse)
My morning routine entails
-Getting up
-Drinking water/washing face
-Workout
-Shower
-Eyelash serum/skin cre
-Journal
-Eat!
My night routine
-Leg stretch (since I run and walk a lot on campus)
I follow Kang Hana's leg stretching https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZWORB39zQk
This is AMAZING like i've tried other leg stretching videos but nothing beats this video
-Wash my face/eyelash serum/ skin care
-Read (get off technology before I sleep)
7. I journal every single day! (I use this prompt called future-self journaling)
https://theholisticpsychologist.com/future-self-journaling/ -> it was inspired by these prompts which Jenn Im posted,
8.TALK it out to others! You don't have to struggle in silence, there are others who love you and want to help you even though it may not seem like it and although they cannot fully feel what you are going through as they are not you, they can still provide you support and the love
Information based
(Here are some youtube channels that helped me a lot in no particular order!)
Breeny Lee
Nathaniel Drew
Be Inspired
Motivation2Study
Rebecca Jay
Calm
Lana Blakely
TED/ TEDx talks
Here are some videos I found particularly helpful
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9gwmyPMByM <- "Push yourself"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZToicYcHIOU <- "10 minute mindfulness meditation"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sncvq71iMD4&list=PLgSSTbGBSPoPnUMesjQSDIR7IhfAUgGpF&index=22 <- "We are not doing this in 2022"
<- "Deshauna Barber "GIVING UP IS THE BIRTH PLACE OF REGRETS" | Part 1"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUjwVVxW0Mc <- "how to: LEVEL UP (MENTALLY)"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_r_ByG8cEc <- "how to: BE CONFIDENT! (STOP caring what people think!)"
Just a reminder, you are doing great, and something little every single day leads to big change
