Eating all three of your meals is very important. Skipping a meal decreases your blood glucose level which causes you to lose focus and make you feel extremely tired and fatigued. Your cortisol level also increases, which induces our “hangry” mood along with elevated stress levels. Furthermore, your metabolism can slow down and disrupt your digestive system.

When I was purposefully skipping my meals, I always felt tired and cold. My initial hunger faded away after a persistent period of fasting and my metabolism drastically dropped. Because I barely ate, I never had high energy levels.

Now, I make sure to have all three of my meals and also have snacks if I am hungry. This keeps me well focused at school and also allows me to fully engage in conversations and interactions with others without a distracted mind.

Make sure to have all three meals and snacks in between that will sustain your energy levels! I know it is hard to have all three when we all have busy lives, but we can prepare beforehand. My favourite breakfast in the morning is making overnight oats because it is so easy to prepare the night before in my mason jars or cups. There are so many different varieties of it that you can try!

Take care of yourself and eat all three of your meals (:
